Summer sport with Freeview Plus 2

An Aussie summer isn’t really an Aussie summer without thongs, tongs and a bit of sport on the telly. We know there have been some big changes in TV this year, and your favourite sport may not be where it used to be... But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

So, throw another snag on the barbie let us do the hard work for you (and help you get to where you need to get to):

Cricket: Australia's new home of cricket, Channel 7, has unveiled an outline of its coverage plans and revealed more commentators for the summer ahead.

For the first time ever, a sole free-to-air broadcaster will broadcast both Test and BBL cricket in Australia. For the next six years, Seven will broadcast:

• 43 Big Bash League matches, including all marquee matches and finals

• All home international tests, including Boxing Day and New Year’s Test matches

• Key Women’s Big Bash League and International matches

All matches will be available to watch on Channel 7 via live broadcast. No matches will be available to be streamed digitally through 7plus or Freeview FV.

Tennis: Nine’s new six-year deal with Tennis Australia is in play in 2019 when the Australian Open takes place from January 14 to 27, as the biggest stars in the game converge on Melbourne Park. Additionally, the Nine Network will air the lead-up tournaments around Australia - the Hopman Cup in Perth and the Brisbane, Sydney and Hobart Internationals.

All tennis will be available on Channel 9 via live broadcast, or to be streamed via 9Now.

Soccer: Catch World Cup stars the likes of Harry Kane, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, Mo Salah - just to name a few - in action for their Premier League clubs.

SBS will continue their coverage of one live game a week via live broadcast, and also streaming to mobile devices via The World Game app available for iOS and Android.

Cycling: Live coverage of 2019s Cycling Australia Road National Championship men’s road race at will continue in it’s home on SBS this year.

SBS will broadcast the championships via live broadcast on January 6, and will also be streaming live and free via SBS On Demand and Freeview FV.
